The brief
After The Jane, Nick Bril asked us to sharpen up his own home too, with a wildcard for a few targeted interventions.
In this project
- Cloakroom cabinet with mirror and folding bench
- Bespoke DJ booth with vinyl trays
- Speaker plinths
Targeted interventions in chef Nick Bril's home in Antwerp: a sculptural cloakroom cabinet with folding bench and a bespoke DJ booth for his music room.
Top chef Nick Bril of star restaurant The Jane was so pleased with the collaboration at his restaurant that he asked us to make his private home in Antwerp a bit more edgy as well. Just like at The Jane, we got a wildcard for some very targeted interventions in the interior. "Bjorn sharpened everything here at home," says the chef.
In the hallway, for example, you will find an out of the box cloakroom cabinet: a minimalist block sculpture with a mirror, reflective materials and an integrated folding bench.
The pinnacle of the collaboration is two doors down, in Bril's music room: a sculptural DJ booth. Because in addition to his shifts at The Jane, Bril is also a much sought after DJ. "And for that I have to train at home, in my man cave," he laughs. "Clubs pay a lot of attention to beautiful DJ furniture, but it is not for sale as designer furniture for private individuals. So Bjorn drew one for me. It has become a beautiful object, functional and aesthetic at the same time, with plexi trays for my vinyl and plinths for my KEF speakers."
