Wine bar Bar Misera in Antwerp Nieuw Zuid: a twenty metre oak banquette, faux marbre tables, café curtains and our own Totm lighting.
In 2024, chef Nicolas Misera and his wife Yasmin opened their second venue, Bar Misera, in Antwerp's vibrant Nieuw Zuid. Situated on the ground floor of Huis aan de Kade, its warm, deep red façade seemed destined to become a wine bar.
Inspired by lively bistros in Paris, Rome and Lisbon, Bar Misera offers casual elegance: ideal for spontaneous aperitifs, friendly dinners or simply enjoying a glass of excellent wine.
The interior design balances cosy charm with dynamic energy. At its heart is an impressive twenty metre oak banquette, paired with faux marbre bistro tables accented in brass. The centrepiece is the striking wine cabinet and bar, supported by elegant oak legs that add a sophisticated twist. Contemporary bordeaux red chairs echo the classic Thonet style.
Playful café curtains, a velvet entrance curtain and gently rotating ceiling fans evoke a traditional European café ambiance, while limited acoustic dampening keeps the chatter lively.
Custom Totm lighting fixtures we designed for Dark provide warm, diffused light, complemented by focused spotlights that highlight the bar and its distinctive features. The result is an inviting wine bar that captures the essence of European bistro culture in the dynamic heart of Antwerp.
