Le Chariot, a punky digestif cart for The Jane in Antwerp, in aluminium, piano lacquer, gold leaf, plexi and leather.
Nick Bril of The Jane approached us with a request to design a mobile bar unit that offers his guests a unique post-meal digestif experience. "Guests at The Jane don't typically order a cognac on their own. You have to make it a table experience," says Nick.
Just as top chefs regularly update their kitchens, the restaurant itself keeps innovating. To add an element of surprise, the furniture could have an edgy touch. And so we designed a punky cart in aluminium, piano lacquer, gold leaf, plexi and leather, which passes by the tables after the meal. The inspiration came from a mobile taco bar in New York, filled with coloured plastic bins.
Le Chariot was born.
